Movie Research: Halloween(2018)
The film has been selected to further implement the genre of horror we are trying to get at. The film was overall I well rounded movie. The movie uses a variety of camera movements like over the shoulder angles, close ups, low angles, and lots of eye level shots as well. Which portray the specific point the movie and film makers is trying to get across to the audience.
The movie Halloween is a classic horror movie and I thought it would be great for this blog. The film is known for its way to always keep you in suspense with intense scenes usually involving Michael Myers. Michael Myers is a iconic horror villain and the film continues time and time again to display his seemingly relentless and unstoppable antagonist ways. The effective blending of the original Halloween (1978) film with the new 2018 modern filmmaking techniques it brings that sense of nostalgia.
The only parts of the movie that did not appeal to me were the heaving rely on established image of the film which we knew what was going to happen next in every suspenseful theme jump scares Michael Myers never dying the atmospheric music and tension building etc. While some audiences like me might desire a more originality or a fresh take on the genre to avoid predictability.
